Ferrero Ibérica strengthens its cloud operations with Colt’s high‑availability connectivity

The Ferrero Group is one of the world’s leading food companies, featuring iconic brands like Nutella, Kinder, Ferrero Rocher, Raffaello and Mon Chéri. With over 80 years of history, the group operates in more than 50 countries and serves 170 markets worldwide.

As part of its digital transformation strategy, Ferrero Ibérica undertook a significant shift in its IT operating model. Internet connectivity evolved from a supporting service into a business‑critical component, underpinning an increasingly cloud‑centric environment and digital applications essential to daily operations.

The Challenge

In recent years, Ferrero Ibérica identified the need for robust and highly reliable connectivity to support the progressive reduction of on‑premise infrastructure at its headquarters in Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona.

The IT team needed to ensure connectivity capable of supporting this new operating reality, with the following key requirements:

  • Stable, uninterrupted connections, with minimal response times in the event of incidents
  • Secure and seamless communication with the group’s corporate data centres located in Alba (Italy) and Stadtallendorf (Germany)
  • Sufficient capacity to sustain growing digital activity, increasingly driven by cloud‑based applications

The Solution

To address these requirements, Colt deployed a high‑speed IP access line at Ferrero Ibérica’s headquarters, delivering robust and cloud‑ready connectivity.

Colt provides high‑capacity IP connectivity, forming the backbone of the site’s digital operations and enabling:

  • Fast, stable connectivity to the group’s financial systems hosted in international corporate data centres
  • High availability levels, significantly reducing the risk of service disruptions impacting critical operations
  • Efficient access to cloud‑based working environments, including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive

In addition, Numintec, as a specialised partner, played a key role in modernising the voice environment by integrating corporate communications into Microsoft Teams, enhancing the experience for both employees and customers.

The Results

Ferrero Ibérica has strengthened and simplified its communications infrastructure, ensuring continuous access to critical applications and supporting the consolidation of cloud services.
